Open and Honest Government

An open and transparent government is essential to the democratic process. Attorney General Steve Six has spent nearly twenty years assisting and educating public officials about the laws of open government. As attorney general, he is dedicated to making the Kansas government more accessible to the public.

Under Kansas law, citizens have the right to access public records and observe many meetings where decisions are made that affect our state.

The Kansas Open Records Act (KORA) and the Kansas Open Meetings Act (KOMA) dictate what meetings and records are open to the public.
