Morrison announces charges against Pittsburg police major

May 7, 2007 -- Attorney General Paul Morrison announced today that Major Terry E. Davis of the Pittsburg Police Department was charged with two counts of Official Misconduct for using confidential information gained in the course of his office for his own gain or the gain of another. Each count is a Class A Person Misdemeanor.

The possible penalties on a Class A are up to a year in jail on each charge and a fine of up to $2,500 on each charge. If convicted of Official Misconduct, the officer or employee must forfeit their office or employment.

While Major Davis has been charged with a crime, he is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
