K.B.I.
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation, a separate agency, is under the jurisdiction of the Attorney General.
The KBI conducts investigations at the request of local law enforcement agencies and at the direction of the Attorney General in order to identify and apprehend criminals and protect and serve the citizens of Kansas. The KBI also is the repository for criminal records and maintains forensic laboratories which analyze crime scene evidence.
