Elder Abuse
As part of Attorney General Steve Six's commitment to helping vulnerable Kansans, this office created an Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation (ANE) Unit.
In 2006, the Legislature called for the creation of ANE Unit to better monitor complaints of abuse investigated by other state agencies. This Unit works with Social & Rehabilitation Services, Kansas Department of Aging, the Kansas Department of Health & Environment, law enforcement and prosecutors statewide to help prevent and prosecute crimes against children and vulnerable adults across Kansas.
Findings and activities of this Unit are reported annually to the Legislature.
