July 30, 2008 -- Attorney General Steve Six has appointed Glenn Kerbs of Dodge City to serve on the Kansas Governmental Ethics Commission. Kerbs is filling the vacancy left by John Marshall, editor of the Lindsborg News-Record.
Kerbs is an attorney who serves as Ford County Counselor, as well as the Board Attorney for the Dodge City Community College and the Unified School District No. 381. He has been active in the Dodge City community for years, including most recently serving on the Bethany College Board of Directors, Boot Hill Museum Board of Directors, Dodge City Athletics Boards of Directors and the United Cerebral Palsy of Kansas Board of Directors.
Kerbs has also been active in the Kansas Bar Association, the Southwest Kansas Bar Association and the Ford-Gray County Bar Association. He serves as chairman of the Southwest Kansas Bar Ethics and Grievance Committee and a member of the Kansas Bar Association Ethics Greivance Panel.
"I am pleased Glenn Kerbs has agreed to serve Kansas in this important role," Six said. "The Governmental Ethics Commission cannot function without the commitment and dedication provided by Kansans like Glenn."
Kerbs appointment will expire in January 31, 2010.
The Kansas Governmental Ethics Commission is charged with administering, interpreting and enforcing the Campaign Finance Act and laws relating to the conflict of interest, financial disclosure and the regulation of lobbying. The commission meets monthly in Topeka.
