Becker sentenced to life plus 68 months

March 14, 2008 -- Attorney General Steve Six announced today that Samuel Becker was sentenced to life plus 68 months for the kidnapping and murder of Jamey Richardson, a former basketball player at Pittsburg State University. Becker is the first of three defendents to stand trial.

Becker was found guilty in January of Aggravated Burglary, Aggravated Battery, Aggravated Assault, Kidnaping, and Felony murder. He was sentenced today in Cherokee County District Court.

His co-defendent, Edward Gordan, today pled no contest to second degree murder and was found guilty. He will be sentenced in late July.

The third co-defendent, Aaron Graham, will stand trial for Aggravated Burglary, Aggravated Battery, Aggravated Assault, Kidnaping, and Felony murder in early July.

Graham will be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
