Feb. 1, 2008 -- The following statement is from Attorney General Stephen Six regarding today's District Court decision on the gaming lawsuit:
"This case is not over. The Attorney General's Office will appeal this decision immediately to the Kansas Supreme Court, and that Court will have the final word on the constitutionality of the expanded gaming law.
"Due to the business interests and economic development at stake here, we will also request the Court expedite the appeal."
