Jan. 11, 2008 -- Attorney General Paul Morrison announced today that Samuel Becker was found guilty for the murder of Jamey Richardson, a former basketball player at Pittsburg State University.
The trial concluded at 8:00 p.m. last night when the jury returned the following guilty verdicts:
Count 2 - Aggravated Burglary - Guilty
Counts 3 & 4 - Aggravated Battery - Guilty
Counts 5 & 6 - Aggravated Assault - Guilty
Counts 7 - 11 - Kidnaping - Guilty
Count 12 - Felony murder - Guilty
Becker was found not guilty on one count of aggravated burglary. He will be sentenced on February 11 at 9:30 a.m.
Becker is the first of three defendants to be tried in connection with Richardson's murder.
