Dec. 12, 2007 -- In an effort to increase consumer awareness, Attorney General Paul Morrison announced today that his Consumer Protection Division will issue one consumer tip for each of the 12 days leading up to Christmas.
“It’s critical that Kansas consumers are educated about potential consumer scams and pitfalls common around the holidays,” Morrison said. “The Consumer Protection Division is working hard to help consumers protect themselves this holiday season.”
The Attorney General’s Office asks the media to help educate consumers by sharing a consumer tip each day leading up to Christmas. They range in topic from identity theft to gift cards to online shopping.
“Working together, we can protect Kansas consumers from being victimized this holiday season,” Morrison said. “Education and awareness is the best way to prevent consumer fraud and identity theft.”
