SISI Child Abuse and Neglect Form

The Attorney General’s Office is given the statutory duty to investigate suspected child abuse or neglect occurring in state-run institutions. The Suspicious Incidents in State Institutions (SISI) Unit oversees these investigations.

SISI works with local law enforcement agencies when crimes are uncovered by these investigations. The primary function of the Unit is to discover whether abuse or neglect has occurred and that the proper persons are held accountable for their actions.

The referrals to SISI come from S.R.S. which operates the institutions (self-reporting) and from the S.R.S. hotline, in which the public can complain of such an act. The cases are then assigned to an investigator to either confirm the abuse or neglect or find it to be unsubstantiated.
