June 20, 2007 -- Attorney General Paul Morrison announced theft charges filed against Catherine Walsh, the City Clerk for Robinson, Kansas.
Walsh was charged last week with one count theft from the City of Robinson of over $25,000, a Level 7 Non-Person Felony and two counts of making false information, Level 8 Non-Person Felonies. The false writings are based upon financial reports Walsh submitted which falsely stated the status of City accounts since she did not report the money she converted for herself.
The state alleges that between 2002 and 2007, Walsh made unauthorized checks payable to herself totaling over $100,000.
The preliminary hearing is set for July 18, 2007 at 3 p.m. Assistant Attorney General Jon Fleenor will represent the State.
These are only allegations and Walsh is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
