May 17, 2007 -- Attorney General Paul Morrison announced today that charges were filed against 19-year-old Christopher Aldrighetti in the death of Jason Witt, age 16. Aldrighetti was charged with one count Involuntary Manslaughter, two counts of Possession of Marijuana and three counts Possession of Paraphernalia.
The charges were filed on May 16 and allege that on November 18, 2005Aldrighetti unintentionally but recklessly shot and killed Jason Witt at the Aldrighetti residence. The drug charges stem from this incident.
First appearance in this case will be held Monday, May 21 at 2:30 p.m. in Columbus, Kan.
These are only allegations and Aldrighetti will be presumed innocent until proven otherwise in a court of law.
